We have a range of snorkelling camera's available, here are some things worth knowing when buying a camera for snorkelling and some tips for maintaining it when you have got it.

What depth should the camera be rated to?
If you are only snorkelling then any of our snorkelling camera's will be absolutely fine, however you might want to consider whether you will be doing any diving also (they do go hand in hand). If you are diving consider what depths you will be reaching, you should not exceed the depth the case is recommended to. Check the camera's description for a depth rating.

What maintenance do underwater camera's need?
Underwater camera's don't have many requirements. It is recommended that o-rings are lightly greased with silicone grease on each use, this stops the rubber seal cracking under pressure.

You should also ensure the o-rings are clean of dust before sealing the unit. O-rings should be replaced if any signs of cracking can be seen.

It is also wise to consider keeping a supply of desiccant packs to insert into your camera when in use. They help to absorb any moisture present in the housing and prevent the lens steaming up when it comes into contact with the colder water.
