Fourth Element Mens Thermocline Vest

£49.99 RRP £59.95  save 17%

Thermocline is probably the most versatile thermal protection system for use in extreme watersports. Breathable, comfortable and lightweight, the garments are also fast drying with the equivalent thermal performance of 2.5mm neoprene.

Made using Polartec® Aqua Shell® fabric, the garments are also neutrally buoyant and machine washable. The Thermocline system can be used as a lightweight wetsuit, pool training suit or as an effective additional thermal layer underneath a wetsuit or semi dry.

Thermal protection:
Wether ice diving in the antarctic, floating in the blue alongside a reef wall, exploring a new cave system or decending to a deep wreck, thermal protection is or paramount importance in maintaining performance.

Loss of heat from the body can result in poor decisions, can lead to exhaustion and speed the onset of hypothermia.

Performance fabrics:
State of the art breatheable, waterproof, flexible and warm fabric developed by climate control specialists, Polartec® has been used by fourth element to create the Thermocline range, which has been tested in some of the most extreme diving conditions in the world.

The Thermocline is made from Polartec® Aqua Shell® fabric and has a thermal performance equivalent to that of 2.5mm of neoprene whilst being neutrally buoyant. Worn on its own or underneath a wetsuit or drysuit for additional thermal protection, the Fourth Element Thermocline system represents and evolutionary step in diving thermal protection.

Comfort warmth breathability:
The fabric is fleece-lined - it is comfortable and warm against the skin. Four way strech gives complete freedom of movement. A breathable membrane means that the Thermocline can be worn before, during and after diving.

Bought this for my husband

Bought this for my husband, kept him toastie warm when worn under his 5mm wetsuit during our recent dive trip to Lanzarote (water temp 19C). Looks so comfy I want one for myself now!

Very snug

Very snug - wore on land and at sea (when the weather turned cold). Be sure to get the right size as very snug fit for male and female versions. allowed us to stay warmer snorkelling for longer in Red Sea

Great piece of kit

Great piece of kit. Wear beneath a 6mm semi dry suit and the extra insulation made for a comfortable couple of dives at 14C.

I only dive in warm water

I only dive in warm water, yes I am a wimp, and the thermocline stuff is great. I have bought, long sleeve, short sleeve, shorts and the vest and they are warm enough and almost neutrally bouyant. Also very good for under or over a wet suit when the water is a bit chilly. A great purchase.

Very comfortable

Very comfortable. Slightly positively bouyant (rather than neutrally as stated on the label) but hardly noticeable. Have only worn so far in 29 degrees under a 3mm set of farmer-john's, but was more than warm enough. Very happy with it, although yet to be tested in colder water.

I used this under my 7mm wet suit when the weather got cold. Good tight fit and very warm to temperatures of about 15 degrees but not much lower.
